OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Mont-Olivet School, the entire team is committed to developing the full potential of our students by combining healthy academic ambition with personal development in a caring environment. We believe that knowledge alone is not enough. However, when combined with personal balance, it becomes the essential basis for future success.

Our team of over 75 people pursues the educational goals of a more than a century-old Swiss establishment, with enthusiasm, availability and commitment. Every day, we do our utmost to offer young people a stimulating, dynamic, healthy and fulfilling environment.

Our founding values: respect, compassion, self-confidence, friendship and perseverance.

LANGUAGES AT MONT-OLIVET

Today’s world requires extensive linguistic skills during school and professional life. To meet the demands of a country like Switzerland, Mont-Olivet School places high importance from Preschool onwards on French-German bilingualism in the form of immersion. Students in 9S and 11S have the opportunity to prepare for the Goethe Institute exams, depending on their level.

English is taught from 1P, at the age of 4.  Students in 6P, 7P and 9S can take Cambridge exams, depending on their level.

ONCE UPON A TIME…

Mont-Olivet School was founded in Lausanne in 1917 by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. The Sisters ran the school and the girls’ boarding school for over 70 years. In 1987, they handed over the management of the school, which by then had become co-educational, to a secular organisation. Our school has continued to adapt and evolve with the times. It has been located in Vich since 2002. In July 2021, Christophe Santschi took over Mont-Olivet School and today the school welcomes about 250 students, aged from 3 to 16 years old.
