Mont-Olivet School has entered into a long-term partnership with the Swiss Judo and Ju-Jitsu Federation, which will be implemented from the beginning of the school year in August 2022 in two ways:
1. In conjunction with the sports teachers, the integration of judo teaching into the sports programmes from Preschool to 7P and then self-defence from 8P to 11S.
2. Creation of a judo club, Mont-Olivet Judo, open to our students and external children.
We are the only public school in Switzerland and in Europe to launch a project of this magnitude. It is ambitious, innovative and allows us to affirm our common values with judo: respect, politeness, courage, sincerity, modesty, friendship and perseverance.
The judo club will be managed by Mr Christian Flippe, who will be responsible for its structure and development. Christian, a judo and ju-jitsu sports educator with a Jeunesse & Sports diploma, has over 40 years of experience in judo.
This extraordinary project is supported by the President of the Swiss Judo and Ju-Jitsu Federation, Mr Sergei Aschwanden, bronze medallist at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, silver medallist at the Osaka World Championships in 2003 and bronze medallist at the Munich World Championships in 2001.
Informations pratiques
Period: September 2023 to June 2024
Hours, Thursday:
3.10pm-4.15pm: from 5P (from 9 years old)
4.15-5.00 p.m.: Kindergarten, 1P and 2P (for 4 to 6 year olds)
5.15pm-6.30pm: from 3P (from 7 years old)
Price: CHF 800.- for 10 months, including kimono, license fees and passport
