Founded in 1917 by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Mont-Olivet School has evolved over time, adapting to the needs of its students and families, to offer the best possible learning environment. We have been established in Vich for nearly 20 years and today welcome 220 students, aged 3 to 16. As of 2024, our school will be the only private school in the La Côte area to offer a complete education, from Preschool to the Maturity Diploma.
At Mont-Olivet School, we aim to combine healthy academic ambition with personal development. We believe that knowledge alone is not enough. However, when combined with personal balance, it becomes the essential basis for future success.
FROM PRESCHOOL TO THE MATURITY DIPLOMA
Mont Olivet School offers a warm, inspiring and friendly environment for your child. From Preschool to the Maturity Diploma, the teaching team is committed to motivating and supporting every student and to developing their full potential. Class sizes are small to ensure personal student-teacher interaction and individual support.
Pupils benefit from classrooms surrounded by natural gardens, new technology and high-level sports facilities, as well as spaces for relaxing and creativity.
LANGUAGES AT MONT-OLIVET SCHOOL
Today’s world requires extensive linguistic skills during school and professional life. To meet the demands of a country like Switzerland, Mont-Olivet School places high importance, from Preschool onwards, on French-German bilingualism in the form of immersion. Students can also take the Goethe Institute exams.
English is taught as an optional subject from 1P, then as part of the school curriculum from 3P, at the age of 6. Optional classes are offered on Wednesday afternoons for beginners, advanced and English speakers. Students in 6P, 7P and 9S can take Cambridge exams, depending on their level.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Our school strives to strike a balance between healthy academic ambition and the personal development of each student. This also requires the right balance between body and mind, for which sport plays an essential part. Extracurricular activities offered to students are chess, fitness, street art, dance, fencing and judo.
Mont-Olivet School is the only private school in Switzerland and in Europe to integrate judo teaching into its sports lessons. We also offer a judo club to our students and to external students. This programme is ambitious and innovative, while it also affirms our values in common with those of judo: respect, politeness, courage, sincerity, modesty, friendship and persistence.

School’s open house success
On Tuesday April 25, our school organized a very successful open house evening. In a warm and relaxed atmosphere, you were able to share privileged moments during your discussions with the teachers and the teaching team.
Easter camps
The Easter holidays are fast approaching. Mont-Olivet School offers children aged 3-15 exciting and stimulating activities during the holidays. They can take part in camps offering a variety of sporting, play and cultural activities.
Judo at Mont-Olivet

CURRICULUM
Knowledge of languages is an important pillar of learning at Mont Olivet School, throughout all of our programmes of study. German is taught from Preschool (3 years old) and English from 1P (4 years old).

Our teaching is carried out by enthusiastic, available, committed and well-trained teachers. The German and English classes are taught exclusively by native speakers of German and English respectively, while sports professionals ensure the best possible coaching.
