From Preschool through to the Maturity Diploma, Mont-Olivet School strives to motivate and support each student individually, so that they can develop their full potential. This is made possible by our highly dedicated teaching staff and by a particularly flexible organisation.
Our students benefit from classrooms surrounded by gardens, state-of-the-art technological and sporting facilities, as well as areas for relaxing and creation. The working and living environment is academically stimulating and feels very welcoming during breaks and social gatherings.
PRESCHOOL
For many children, Preschool is one of the first places of discovery after the family setting. Our specialised teachers are dedicated to satisfying the children’s curiosity, their need to learn and their enthusiasm. They offer learning methods inspired by educators such as Maria Montessori, which are alternated with games, socialising or rest. We aim to integrate our youngest students gently into school life.
PRIMARY SECTOR
This sector includes classes from Years 1P to 8P, with students aged 4 to 12. These are classes of reasonable size, whose teachers have university training, and whose programmes are adapted every year. This encourages in-depth acquisition of knowledge and allows the school to go beyond the objectives set out in the Romand Educational Plan (Plan d’Etudes Romand – PER).
SECONDARY SECTOR
This sector includes Years 9S to 11S (ages 13 to 15). These are vital years for a student’s future and also the years when students and parents choose their option subject. We believe that achieving a high academic standard requires efficient study methods and a capacity to work productively. This is the why our teachers provide students with personalised coaching.
MATURITY DIPLOMA AT MONT-OLIVET SCHOOL
In an increasingly demanding professional context, it is essential to be able to offer our students the best possible support right up to university entrance. Therefore, from the beginning of the school year in August 2024, the three years of preparation for the Swiss Maturity Diploma will be reintroduced at Mont-Olivet. The first students involved will be the current 10S students, who will have the opportunity to continue their studies at our school after 11S. We start preparing for the Maturity in class 11S at Mont-Olivet. Mont-Olivet School will be the only private school in the La Côte region to offer a complete education, from Preschool to the Maturity Diploma.

FOREST SCHOOL
An enriching experience: forest school
In all seasons, the forest is a wonderful and interesting place. It offers our students different ways of learning, exploring and using their knowledge, by employing all their senses. Mathematics, creative activities and discovery of the world are taught in a fun way, with materials found in nature. During our outings, our students learn to respect the environment and develop their ecological awareness. Forest school encourages curiosity, new ideas, movement, confidence, and enrichment through the various experiences.
All our teachers have been trained by a forest school professional, who also accompanied them on their initial outings.
Regular outings for the junior sector; a whole programme
The Preschool teachers organise regular outings around the school and to the forest canopy, access to which is provided by the commune of Vich. The 1P and 2P classes go to the forest every two weeks, regardless of the weather. However, the teachers follow the weather forecast closely and do postpone outings in case of strong wind or heavy rain. The 3P and 4P classes plan their outings according to the seasons and depending on their programme, ensuring a positive link between learning and nature.
